Out and About
With it being Mothers Day here soon, we battled through the rain and howling gale and headed down to Greenock yesterday to take Lynne’s mum out to lunch. Our journey starts at our local railway station, Mount Florida, and after a change at Glasgow Central, where we bought a couple of cheeky wine’s for the train, we get to the local railway station closest to Lynne’s parents, Fort Matilda.
We headed to Morgans Bar and Restaurant for lunch. It’s a pretty decent place to eat, the portions are pretty large, so Chas (Lynne’s Dad) and I opted to share a starter of Spicy Chicken Wings. Look, I actually managed to remember to take photographs of the food this time!
When I’m eating out, I like to have something that I wouldn’t normally have at home. So I had the Spicy Steak Sandwich on garlic bread which came with a huge pile of fries which I don’t eat and so I passed those to everyone else to share. The steak sandwich was extremely tasty though, just enough heat and the meat perfectly cooked.
Grace (Lynne’s mum) had the Chicken Curry for mains, Chas had Chicken Piri Piri and Lynne the Voodoo Chicken (her favourite). All these dishes went down well and with another glass of wine, naturally. 😉
Finally, Lynne and I shared the Baileys Ice Cream dessert, again HUGE and again really tasty with just enough Baileys, which was mostly found at the bottom of the glass in the melted ice cream which Lynne and I fought over.
It was a great lunch out. We also had a perfect window seat which allowed us the watch the storm unfolding outside, which we had to battle through to get back to the train station for our return. As I write this, the sun is gloriously shining in our Glasgow sky. Funny how that happens isn’t it? 😮

In my head
For some reason, this same song played when I had “shuffle” selected on my iPod this week at the gym. I thought it was a sign to share it with you. We totally love Plan B and were lucky enough to go and see him perform in Glagow a couple of years ago and he was amazing live! Plus it’s an amazing video!
Back to College!
(Well, evening classes anyway 😉 )
So yeah, I’m so totally excited to be going back to college, from this Thursday, for 10 weeks to study Web Design and Web Authoring. I’ve been following online courses for a while now, teaching myself CSS and making tweaks to this site, to style it the way I want, but when it comes to asking questions, I get stuck at that point, there’s no one to ask. So this course gives me the opportunity to further everything I’ve learned so far and to annoy the lecturer with my list of questions!
It’s funny you know, I’ve gone back to do something I actually started when I was 12! I had a ZX Spectrum and I taught myself to program it, in Basic, but when it came to learning Machine Code, I was totally lost so gave up. Was it the career I should have pursued then? ❓
Anyway, I’m pretty sure that if I learn things that might be of interest to you fellow bloggers, they will be shared! 😀
I’ll see you for the next update on Tuesday, but if you’re looking for some more fantastic blog excellence recommended reading, check out Ms Spoons at Running with Spoons. and thanks for keeping in touch.
Lynne would also really love it, if you would add your own blog links, to the linkup at the bottom (so she doesn’t have to keep reading mine) 😉
