The 80/20 way is the definitive guide to living a happier more fulfilling life. It's a simple theory where 80% of our best outcomes come from 20% of our efforts. Live the 80/20 way - the simple way!
Start living the 80/20 way today for a more productive and easier life.......
On the radio recently, I caught the lyrics of a Bee Gees song.
“Cause we’re living in a world of fools breaking us down when they all should let us be”
I started thinking afterwards and I came to the conclusion that it’s not just a world of fools breaking us down.
It’s also the daily bombardment of TV adverts and media telling us who we should be and why we need to do or buy certain things. They make us feel inadequate, pressurised and stressed.
The thing is, does taking that advice from the media or buying those products make you feel any better or change your life?
No. Not really. Be honest with yourself here.
And then someone else comes along telling you what you should be, or another advert tells you how you can’t survive without their product.
And so the vicious cycle starts again.
I mean, should you really take advice from someone you don’t know, who doesn’t have your true welfare at heart? Someone who might not be educated or well informed in the subject they preach to you about?
And what about things anyway? Do you really need several different bath or washing products for instance?
Apply The 80/20 Way
This is where you need to apply the 80/20 way. It's simple.
“Less is more”. And that’s it.
You really don’t need much to be happy. And that’s the problem nowadays. People think that they need more and more material things to make them happy.
Things like personal possessions, money, electrical gadgets, houses, expensive cars and even relationships.
And you really don’t need more advice from people on how to live your life. Live it simply.
Honestly, what we should ALL be doing is focusing on less. It’s been proven (the law of pareto) that 80% of an outcome or output comes from 20% of the input.
To put it simply, only 20% effort is needed to give you 80% outcome.
Focus on these 20% things (the less) to give you the 80% (the more) for greater satisfaction, happiness and contentment.
Stop comparing yourself to everyone else and live a unique and modest life concentrating on: -
- Your health (a healthy diet and active lifestyle)
- Yourself and nearest relationships (the ones that matter)
- Your desired job (or a plan to get there)
- The creation of investment income
- A simple, good life
Where the 80/20 Way Comes From
The 80/20 way isn’t something I’ve imagined.
It’s written about by Richard Keogh in his Living the 80/20 Way and it’s mentioned too by some of my other favourite authors like Jon Acuff and Dave Ramsay.
The 80/20 rule for money has been working well for Lynne and I now for over 5 years. We’ve come a long way from having a huge amount of mortgage debt and more expenses than income, as well as unhealthy diets and lifestyles to where we are today.
Today we have investment income that we’re slowly increasing. We don’t buy “stuff”. We have amazing holidays, spending good quality time together. I’m working on my dream job of writing this blog full time with lots of quick healthy recipes and details on the 80/20 way to hopefully inspire you to live the 80/20 way too.
I’ll bring you more in the future about how we integrate the 80/20 way into our lives. Make sure you're subscribed for that and keep checking out this 80/20 way page for updates.

Thanks Megan. That's exactly what it is too. Focus on the 20% that matters and that will give you 80% of your best outcome. Spend the rest of he time doing something else you love. 🙂

All about 80/20 living, with all regards. Food, to fitness to life! Right now I'm doing too much focusing on the 80% that isn't serving me. Time to whittle!

I often have to take stock too. The 80/20 rule is just such a perfect little thing to remember, and to apply when you know you're doing too much!
