Substitutions
- Vegetable Oil - you can use olive oil instead. I prefer vegetable oil for curries.
- Onions
- Ginger And Garlic Paste - I use shop bought ginger and garlic paste to save time chopping. You could always use 2 crushed garlic cloves and a teaspoon of grated fresh ginger instead though.
- Turmeric Powder
- Red Chilli Powder
- Ground Cumin Powder
- Garam Masala - you can substitute with medium curry powder instead.
- Chilli flakes (optional for extra spice)
- Tomato Puree / Tomato Paste
- Lamb Mince - I use reduced fat lamb mince (less than 20% fat). The nutritional label is based on that. You can substitute with beef mince / ground mince or soya mince or quorn mince if you want to make it vegetarian.
- Freshly Ground Salt And Black Pepper
- Frozen Peas - you can also use fresh green peas or substitute with chickpeas.
- Freshly Chopped Coriander (optional garnish)

It's no secret I'm not a huge fan of curry, but you recipes always look so delicious that one day I might be converted lol (Actually last winter I tried one of your recipes, and it turned out great.) Another lovely variation that looks appetizing!
Neil
I think I could easily convert you into a curry lover Ben! Especially with you living in a colder climate over there in Canada my curries would soon heat you up. They're one of my favourite go-to comfort foods. So glad you made one of my previous recipes. Which one was it?
Sherry M
we don't eat lamb but i guess you could use beef mince instead. A curry is always good on a wintry night. we are having a scorcher of a week here so i'll have to wait till winter!
Neil
Yes this works with beef mince instead Sherry. Enjoy your scorching week, we're freezing here at the moment. Ha ha!
