Stoneware casserole dish of healthy baked feta pasta.

Healthy baked feta pasta is my lighter version of the popular Tiktok recipe sensation. It's easy to make with step-by-step pictures and tastes amazing!

A stoneware dish of cooked healthy baked feta pasta. Salt and pepper cellars and a serving spoon at the top.

This healthy baked feta pasta is so tasty and perfect to make for a quick weeknight family dinner!

Now folks it was my other half who pointed out this amazing recipe to me about a year ago on Tiktok.

She's a lover of Tiktok but I'm afraid I'm not as I just don't have the time to keep up with every social media network!

I do however LOVE the original recipe which was created by Finnish blogger Jenni Häyrinen.

This is my own version where I've made a few changes and substitutions to make it healthier.

A pasta bowl with a serving of healthy baked feta pata and a fork over the top. Rest of pasta dish in the background.

There's lots of other versions of this recipe on the internet that you can search for. As usual I'm a bit late to the party!

Saying that I always like to take my time and try out different versions of those recipes and add my own tweaks and choice of ingredients and of course at the end of the day, I think (in my humble opinion) this is MY best version of that baked feta pasta recipe.

The taste is just so amazing. The sweetness of the burst cherry and sundried tomatoes goes so well with the feta.

Anyway, it's so easy to make and doesn't need many ingredients or that much effort either.

There's really only three things you need to do.

A pasta bowl with baked feta pasta in and a fork to the side. Side salad at the top of image with salad serving tongs.

First you get the pasta on to cook.

Second whilst the pasta is cooking, you put all the ingredients into a baking dish to make the feta sauce part and bake it the oven. This is so much easier than making a sauce on your stove.

Third you combine the cooked pasta with the delicious feta sauce. Then...serve!

You can also substitute many of the ingredients I've used and make this your own.

For example other cheeses like goats cheese would work well.

I use whole wheat penne pasta but you can also make this gluten free with gluten free pasta or use another pasta of your choice.

My version uses cherry tomatoes and sliced sundried tomatoes to give it extra sweetness but grape tomatoes will also do.

How To Make Healthy Baked Feta Pasta

Step 1 of image showing how to make healthy baked feta pasta. A stoneware dish with a block of feta cheeese in and cherry tomatoes around.

Cook pasta in boiling salted water according to the packet instructions until al-dente. Then drain and set aside.

Whilst pasta is cooking, place the feta cheese block in the centre of the stoneware baking dish.

Arrange onion, garlic, cherry, and sundried tomatoes around the cheese. Sprinkle over 2 tablespoon of the fresh basil.

Drizzle the olive oil and red wine vinegar over.

Ensure all your baking dish ingredients are well coated.

Bake in the top part of your oven for approximately 20 minutes.

Bake until the cheese has lightly browned slightly and the vegetables are roasted.

Mix together the feta cheese with the tomatoes until melted and creamy.

    Stir in the drained pasta.

Serve garnished with the remaining chopped fresh basil and a green salad.

I love this! A perfect example of how Parmesan isn’t the only cheese for pasta dishes! Thanks!

Feta is definitely underutilized in pasta. Nice one!!

I'll confess Charlie it wasn't something I considered with pasta (except sometimes chucking in some cold chunks with warm pasta and stirring them around) but it does taste amazing!

Same as me I was late with this TikTok trends but better late than never. I was surprised when I tried this for the first time, it was surprisingly good, your changes to the original recipe looks delish too, I love the fact that you add a touch of red wine vinegar, giving it a nice tang.

Thanks Raymund. Yes I love adding that red wine vinegar to give the whole dish a "tang" as you say. It's quite amazing! I'm never up to date with trends. But as you say, better late than never! 🙂

Ah, I do love feta cheese, and the thought of using it baked into a pasta dish sounds fantastic! It looks creamy and delicious in the best way possible. And I hear ya on TikTok - I haven't gone down that road as I simply can't keep up with everything. Good thing we have our better halves to help us out! Haha - have a good weekend my friend!

Neil! So glad you're on the TikTok train! There are some good recipes there for sure! I've made this pasta and I loved it, too! But I have to say the addition of the sundried tomatoes is genius! A big boost of extra flavor! Nice adaptation!

I don't care for TikTok and trendy recipes, but this baked feta pasta was probably the only one viral recipe I've ever tried. Utterly delicious, right? Loving the addition of sun-dried tomatoes in here. I need to make it soon again.

It's a great way to use feta. I would have never thought it would have tasted so good in a pasta bake. Hope you get a chance to make it and enjoy it!

Very nice, second day warmed up with a little spoon of pesto added to it makes it even more delicious. Just put it in the oven to do it all over again - this time with a few more sundried tomatoes (because I did not have enough fresh), and half a spoon of greek pesto in the oven, will add another half spoon of pesto at the end. Also did not have basil today, so have added some parsley from the garden hoping that will work too.

Thanks so much for taking the time to comment Bea! Glad you enjoyed the recipe and love the suggestions for how to enjoy it on it's second day. I haven't tried it with parsley. Will have to try it with that and see if it works in the future!
