FAQ's
Is Creamy Prawn Pasta Healthy?
Compared to other prawn pasta recipes which use double cream (heavy cream) and butter for the sauce, yes this is a healthy creamy prawn pasta.
How Many Calories Are In This Prawn Linguine?
This creamy prawn pasta without cream is low in calories at just 515 calories per serving.
What Kind Of Pasta Should I Use?
Although you should use linguine, any long type pasta such as spaghetti or fettuccine will do. You could also use tagliatelle. To make your own see my tagliatelle with home made pesto recipe.
Can I Use Cooked Prawns?
Raw prawns (also known as green prawns) are the best. They add more flavour to the recipe. You can use cooked prawns though. If frozen, make sure they are thoroughly defrosted first as you only need to add them to the sauce to warm them through. Do this at Step 5.
What To Serve With Creamy Prawn Linguine?
It's quite filling so I just serve it with a couple of slices of garlic bread. You can use this to make sure all the sauce is mopped up. You could also serve it with a fresh green salad.
Storage And Freezing?
I do not recommend storing or freezing this recipe. This recipe needs to be cooked and served fresh.

Nice! I actually rarely use cream to make a pasta sauce, and I go with some cream cheese; it thickens and makes it rich without making overly heavy. I love the idea to use crรจme fraiche, it sounds good! The pasta itself looks also light but perfectly hearty.
Neil
Yeah I use cream cheese (low fat soft cheese here) to make my pasta sauces as well Ben. It's also suitable to use. I find crรจme fraiche gives the sauce a lighter not overly cheesy flavour to the sauce. But both are good!
Linger, Kristy Murray
Goodness Gracious! Comfort food doesn't get any better than this creamy deliciousness. Easy yet decadent. Love it. Thanks so much for sharing Neil.
Neil
Thanks you Kristy. It's lovely with a glass of wine. Or two ๐
Monica Nick Nocks
It was okay but the sauce went curdled and was quite runny, maybe I out too much creme fraiche in.
I would try it again though. Filled a hole....
Neil
Oh dear. Sounds like you had your pan too hot and maybe you didn't simmer and stir the sauce to reduce it which would have thickened it?
David @ Spiced
Creamy pasta is perhaps my all-time guilty pleasure! I do try to avoid it (mostly) for the sake of my waistline, so I'm really intrigued by this version with crรจme fraiche. Excellent recipe, my friend - definitely going on the list of things to make here!
Neil
This recipe is definitely much better for your waistline than those made with cream David. Hope you get a chance to make it. ๐
