Healthy strawberries and cream smoothie is a deliciously creamy, smooth and naturally sweet breakfast smoothie. Made with only 4 ingredients and no actual cream. How cool is that?
Folks, just let me tell you how good this healthy strawberries and cream smoothie really is and why it’s so good……
Simple ingredients, that’s it!
Fresh Scottish locally grown strawberries (we do export these so you might be able to get them from where you are reading this, but if not, don’t despair just use the best you can purchase!)
Fat free strawberry yogurt, fat free Greek yogurt and a little honey. That’s it.
That combination is enough using just a few cream associated dairy products, but no actual cream, to make this delicious smoothie!
Last week it was all about salads.
This week it’s been all about smoothies!
So let me talk a bit about the inspiration for this recipe.
Its pretty apt that today is linking up with spoons day as it was Ms Spoons recipe, this Peaches and Cream Protein Smoothie which I made last year, love, and have loved many times since that inspired me! (I’m comment no.13 in case you need me to prove it).
So being inspired by that recipe, I thought, what else could you make as a smoothie that is delicious and creamy, uses some cream based products, but doesn’t actually contain the full fat product itself?
I came up with an idea to put together a healthy strawberries and cream smoothie, one that obviously didn’t plagiarise Ms Spoons recipe, but one that still was deliciously creamy tasting, like hers, et voila!
Thank you for the inspiration and as always a great blog Amanda! 😀
And, OK, so I’ve missed Wimbledon by a couple of weeks, when this smoothie probably would have been more apt.
I can imagine it would have been perfect for me to watch Andy Murray being beaten in the semi finals again (oh so close AGAIN Andy!). Sigh. Still there’s always next year. 😮

If you’re craving even more fresh summer berry smoothies, like this one, then check out my raspberry and pear smoothie.
I also seriously recommend my grapefruit oatie smoothie, for hangovers. Not that I’ve ever experienced any. 😉
So we did salads last week, smoothies this week, I wonder what it’ll be next week? Hope you’ll check back on Tuesday for my next new recipe.
