    Healthy creamy salmon pasta is the ultimate easy and delicious low-calorie weeknight comfort food. Ready in just 30-minutes!

    This healthy creamy salmon pasta takes hardly any effort to make and has a unique delicious smoky creamy taste to it.

    It'll take you just half an hour to whip up this dish and serve it to a family of four. That makes it an excellent dish for busy weeknights.

    I love making lighter versions of classic dinner dishes.

    Just like my low fat garlic mushroom pasta, and my healthy creamy prawn pasta this creamy salmon tagliatelle recipe is also a healthier version of a classic!

    I mean what's not to love about salmon in a tasty creamy sauce?

    What's more your waistline will thank you that this is a creamy salmon pasta made without actual cream!

    Instead of using cream, my healthy creamy salmon pasta uses low fat crème fraiche and a little grated parmesan.

    This makes a healthier but still amazing tasting creamy sauce!

    🔪 Step By Step Instructions

    Detailed instructions are in the recipe card below. But here is a quick step by step guide of how to make this easy healthy creamy salmon pasta recipe:

    Cooked tagliatelle in a large saucepan.

    Step 1

    • Cook the tagliatelle until al dente, drain and set aside.
    Sautéd onion and garlic in a large frying pan.

    Step 2

    • Whilst pasta is cooking sauté the onion and garlic.
    Crème fraiche and lemon juice stirred into the pan with the sauted onion and garlic.

    Step 3

    • Stir in the crème fraiche and lemon juice then the parmesan.
    Salmon strips stirred into the pan.

    Step 4

    • Stir in the salmon strips and warm through.
    Stirring parsley into the healthy creamy salmon pasta and seasoning to taste.

    Step 5

    • Remove from the heat stir, in parsley and season to taste.
    Tagliatelle combined with the creamy salmon in the pan and ready to serve.

    Step 6

    • Combine the drained pasta with the salmon and sauce. Serve.

    📖 Substitutions

    • Dried Tagliatelle - see FAQ's below for other suggested pasta options.
    • Olive Oil - just use an ordinary cooking olive oil not extra virgin olive oil.
    • Onion - use a small brown onion.
    • Garlic Cloves - fresh garlic cloves are best.
    • Low Fat Crème Fraiche - you can use full fat but that will alter the nutritional label.
    • Lemon Juice - freshly squeezed is best but you can use from a bottle too.
    • Parmesan Cheese - use freshly grated.
    • Smoked Salmon - use smoked salmon for convenience so that no cooking before adding to the recipe is required.

    I do not recommend storing or freezing this recipe. This recipe needs to be cooked and served fresh.

    Ingredients

    • 300 g dried tagliatelle
    • 1 tablespoon olive oil
    • 1 small onion diced.
    • 2 cloves garlic crushed.
    • 150 ml low fat crème fraiche
    • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
    • 45 g parmesan cheese grated.
    • 240 g smoked salmon sliced into strips.
    • 2 tablespoon flatleaf parsley chopped.
    • Freshly Ground Salt and Black Pepper
    Metric - US Customary

    Instructions

    • Cook the dried tagliatelle according to package instructions in salted boiling water until al dente, drain and set aside.
    • Whilst the pasta is cooking gently heat the oil in a large skillet or non-stick frying pan over a medium heat and sauté the onion and garlic for about 2 – 3 minutes until softened but not burnt.
    • Stir in the crème fraiche and lemon juice and when it starts to bubble add the parmesan, stir well and turn down to simmer.
    • Stir in the salmon strips and allow to simmer for 1 - 2 minutes, until warmed through.
    • Remove from the heat stir, in parsley and season to taste.
    • Combine the drained pasta with the salmon and sauce. Serve.

      Nice! Pasta with smoked salmon is one of my favourite. And I'm not a huge fan of adding cream to pasta sauces either so I often opt for some cream cheese instead. And for a spring version, I also love the addition of green peas or asparagus, for an added freshness.
