    If you're looking for an easy, healthy family dinner that's ready in just one hour then this one pot turkey mince pasta is exactly what you need!

    It's packed with lean protein, tons of flavour, and being made in one pot means minimal washing up! This is a delicious meal that I guarantee you'll find yourself making again and again.

    As the pasta cooks in the rich tomato sauce, it absorbs all those delicious Italian-inspired flavours for a meal that's both satisfying and incredibly filling.

    This healthy turkey mince pasta recipe is completely versatile. Not only is it a fantastic way to use lean turkey mince but you can easily substitute other types of mince into the recipe too.

    Feel free to add mushrooms, spinach, peppers, courgette or even frozen peas if you'd like more vegetables as well.

    I use wholewheat penne pasta to add extra fibre, but any kind of pasta such as fusilli, rigatoni or macaroni works equally well.

    If you find the sauce thickens too much whilst cooking then just add a little hot water from your kettle until you reach your preferred consistency.

    • Lean Turkey Mince - you can also substitute with pork mince or chicken mince.
    • Mixed Herbs
    • Smoked Paprika
    • Chilli Flakes - optional depending on if you want extra heat.
    • Tomato Purée
    • Tinned Chopped Tomatoes
    • Chicken Stock - you can use vegetable stock / vegetable broth instead.
    • Wholewheat Penne Pasta - you can substitute with fusilli, rigatoni or macaroni instead but wholewheat is best.
    • Freshly Ground Salt and Black Pepper
    • Freshly Grated Parmesan - optional to serve.

    How To Make One Pot Turkey Mince Pasta (Step By Step Instructions)

    Detailed instructions are in the recipe card below. But here is a quick step by step guide of how to make this ground turkey pasta recipe:

    Diced onion cooked in a large casserole pot.

    Step 1

    • Heat the olive oil, add the onion and cook until softened.
    Crushed garlic stirred into the cooked diced onion.

    Step 2

    • Stir in the garlic and cook until fragrant.
    Turkey mince added to the cooked diced onion and crushed garlic in a large casserole pot.

    Step 3

    • Stir in the turkey mince, breaking it up with a wooden spoon and cook until browned and no longer pink.
    Mixed herbs, smoked paprika, chilli flakes and tomato purée stirred into the turkey mince pasta recipe.

    Step 4

    • Stir in the mixed herbs, smoked paprika, chilli flakes and tomato purée.
    Chopped tomatoes and chicken stock added to the large casserole pot of turkey mince pasta.

    Step 5

    • Add the chopped tomatoes and stock and stir well.
    Wholewheat penne pasta added to the large casserole pot and brought to a boil.

    Step 6

    • Add the pasta and bring everything to the boil.

    Ingredients

    • 1 tablespoon olive oil
    • 1 medium onion finely diced
    • 2 garlic cloves crushed
    • 500 g lean turkey mince
    • 1 teaspoon mixed herbs
    • ½ teaspoon smoked paprika
    • ¼ teaspoon chilli flakes optional
    • 2 tablespoon tomato purée
    • 2 x 400g tins chopped tomatoes
    • 750 ml chicken stock
    • 300 g wholewheat penne pasta
    • Freshly Ground Salt and Black Pepper
    • Freshly grated Parmesan to serve

    Instructions

    • Heat the olive oil in a large deep pot or casserole dish over a medium heat. Add the onion and cook for 4-5 minutes until softened.
    • Stir in the garlic and cook for another minute.
    • Add the turkey mince and cook for 6-8 minutes, breaking it up with a wooden spoon until browned and cooked through.
    • Stir in the mixed herbs, smoked paprika, chilli flakes and tomato purée. Cook, stirring for 1 minute.
    • Add the chopped tomatoes and chicken stock then and stir well.
    • Add the pasta and bring everything to the boil.
    • Reduce to a gentle simmer, cover and cook for 14-16 minutes, stirring every few minutes to stop the pasta sticking, until the pasta is tender and most of the liquid has been absorbed.
    • Season to taste with freshly ground salt and black pepper.
    • Serve garnished with the freshly grated parmesan.
