How To Make One Pot Turkey Mince Pasta (Step By Step Instructions)
Detailed instructions are in the recipe card below. But here is a quick step by step guide of how to make this ground turkey pasta recipe:

Step 1
- Heat the olive oil, add the onion and cook until softened.

Step 2
- Stir in the garlic and cook until fragrant.

Step 3
- Stir in the turkey mince, breaking it up with a wooden spoon and cook until browned and no longer pink.

Step 4
- Stir in the mixed herbs, smoked paprika, chilli flakes and tomato purée.

Step 5
- Add the chopped tomatoes and stock and stir well.

Step 6
- Add the pasta and bring everything to the boil.

Step 7
- Reduce to a gentle simmer, cover and cook stirring every few minutes to stop the pasta sticking, until the pasta is tender and most of the liquid has been absorbed. Season to taste.

Step 8
- Serve garnished with the freshly grated Parmesan.

Ingredients
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 medium onion finely diced
- 2 garlic cloves crushed
- 500 g lean turkey mince
- 1 teaspoon mixed herbs
- ½ teaspoon smoked paprika
- ¼ teaspoon chilli flakes optional
- 2 tablespoon tomato purée
- 2 x 400g tins chopped tomatoes
- 750 ml chicken stock
- 300 g wholewheat penne pasta
- Freshly Ground Salt and Black Pepper
- Freshly grated Parmesan to serve
Instructions
- Heat the olive oil in a large deep pot or casserole dish over a medium heat. Add the onion and cook for 4-5 minutes until softened.
- Stir in the garlic and cook for another minute.
- Add the turkey mince and cook for 6-8 minutes, breaking it up with a wooden spoon until browned and cooked through.
- Stir in the mixed herbs, smoked paprika, chilli flakes and tomato purée. Cook, stirring for 1 minute.
- Add the chopped tomatoes and chicken stock then and stir well.
- Add the pasta and bring everything to the boil.
- Reduce to a gentle simmer, cover and cook for 14-16 minutes, stirring every few minutes to stop the pasta sticking, until the pasta is tender and most of the liquid has been absorbed.
- Season to taste with freshly ground salt and black pepper.
- Serve garnished with the freshly grated parmesan.
