Well folks as we’re in summer now I thought I’d bring you my 4 easy healthy dips!
These are my tried and tested recipes, always made in advance for guests or as appetisers when Lady Lynne and I have guests round.
It’s great to have a few dip recipes up your sleeve, and most of these easy healthy dips below can be put together quickly. Better still, if you make them the night before, then they’ve plenty of time to marinate their individual flavours together making them even more tasty!
Starting from top left in the featured image above :-
Low Fat Tzatziki Dip
- Made from 0% fat Greek yogurt with just the very minimal amount of olive oil required, this low fat tzatziki dip is probably the simplest of the 4 easy healthy dips to make.
This healthier tzatziki tastes just as delicious as the original, but with less calories and fat. Plus the longer you leave it in the fridge the better! Serve with your chosen veggies as crudities or use as a sauce with grilled meats or fish.
Low Fat Red Pesto Dip
2) Top right, basically with this low fat red pesto dip recipe you put all of the ingredients into a food processor / blender, blitz them up, season to taste and that’s it!
This red pesto dip has a unique, tasty “tangy” flavour and is sure to be a hit! With all the goodness of sun dried tomatoes, pine nuts and freshly squeezed lemon juice it’s perfect for mixing in with pasta too!
Low Fat Roasted Red Pepper Dip
The low fat roasted red pepper dip has a deep and rich flavour. It’s made from peppers, chickpeas, herbs and spices and is a perfect tasty addition to any party or picnic spread.
Low Fat Hummus Dip
4) Finally, bottom right I’m sure that you recognise that one? Yep classic hummus! But here, this low fat hummus dip isn’t like the ones you’ll get shop bought.
Made from only 4 ingredients with salt and pepper to season, this delicious, creamy and thick hummus dip is one you’ll not want to miss from your easy healthy dips serving. I don’t use tahini in my recipe in order to keep it as low fat and healthy as possible. I think it tastes superb the way it is!
Well folks, I mentioned in the previous vegetarian quorn cottage pie recipe that Lady Lynne and I are off for a short break to Oban. We’re meeting up with some Australian relatives who have made it over to Scotland, and whom we haven’t seen since our wedding three years ago. Plus we’ll be visiting the Oban Distillery. Be sure to check back next Thursday for an update!
And with that being said, and my leaving you with these 4 easy healthy dips to make, I’ll also be taking a break over the next few months and adopting a summer recipe posting schedule, once a week, every Thursday. This will allow me to do some essential “blog maintenance” in the background, which will provide a better user experience for you all!
Have a great weekend, don’t forget to check out thinking out loud and I’ll catch up with you next week! 🙂
