This grapefruit oatie smoothie is quick and easy to prepare and it has a rejuvenating, naturally sweet taste. It’s a great source for your daily vitamin C requirement which helps to combat and relieve colds and flu symptoms and reduce stress levels!
Grapefruits have long been associated with being good for weight loss. They have a fat-burning enzyme which can help to absorb and reduce sugar and starch levels in the body.
So, you can be sure that this grapefruit oatie smoothie is just packed full of goodness.
I’ve made this grapefruit oatie smoothie many times before, but on this occasion I was unable to find ruby grapefruit juice in my local supermarket, so I substituted with a particular branded Ruby Breakfast Juice, which actually turned out just as good.
- 350ml orange/ruby grapefruit juice.
- 200ml fat free natural yogurt
- 2 tbsp. clear honey
- 2 tbsp. porridge oats
- 1 medium banana peeled and sliced
- Place all of the ingredients into a blender or food processor and blend until smooth.
- Serve immediately or keep chilled and covered in the fridge for one day maximum.
Be sure to remember to give this a good stir before drinking to mix up all the flavours and the porridge oats so they don’t sit at the bottom of the glass.
This grapefruit oatie smoothie is best served chilled too, so if you can make it and leave it to chill in the fridge before pouring, all the better. I should also say, this is a fantastic aid towards curing hangovers! Not that I ever suffer from one…….. 😉
