    These 10 healthy summer smoothie recipes are my most popular refreshing summer smoothies. From chocolate to banana there's a smoothie here for everyone!

    Wow! Well it's certainly heading to be one of the hottest summers here in the U.K. that we've ever known.

    So what better way to help us all cool down than with a refreshing smoothie?

    We love to make smoothies all year round in our house. But just lately we've been having more than our fair share!

    Not only are smoothies great to help you cool down but as they're made with fruit and vegetables they can help contribute towards your five a day.

    Healthy smoothie recipes also contain fibre, protein and lots of essential vitamins and minerals too.

    This list below not only contains my best smoothie recipes but they're also easy summer smoothie recipes to make.

    Best Blender For Juicing And Smoothies?

    If you're serious about making the very best smoothies then I recommend the Optimum (affiliate link) range of blenders.

    I use my blender so often for soups, smoothies, dips, spreads, dressings and marinades.

    It also has no problem grinding grains (I did oats to make oat flour) and nuts can also be ground to make nut butters. AND it can actually make dough too!

    How Long Do Smoothies Last In The Fridge?

    Wondering how long can you keep a smoothie in the fridge or freezer? Well fresh is best but your smoothie should be good in the fridge for 1-2 days. It may need stirred before drinking.

    With some smoothies you can store them in the freezer (blended) for up to 3 months. But it will depend on the kind of smoothie you made. I wouldn't recommend freezing milk based smoothies for example.

    Is It Healthy To Drink Smoothies Everyday?

    Yes it's OK to drink at least one smoothie per day. Smoothies are loaded with fruits and vegetables.

    However if you are drinking a shop bought smoothie just be aware that they may contain unhealthy additives and additional sugar. It's always best to make your own so you know exactly what's in them!

      It's been hot and humid here in Atlanta, GA too - so smoothies have been an ideal way to cool down especially after working in the yard. And, Neil, you have some amazing combos here - I especially love the blueberry apple and strawberry beetroot - ooh and I think that oatie grapefruit smoothie is such a brilliant idea! Thanks for these! Hoping it starts to cool down there soon!

      We haven't made nearly enough smoothies this summer! Usually those are a staple for lunches in our house on hot summer weekends. (I think the move has kinda thrown off our "normal routine" haha) This list is great - and that tropical banana smoothie is really calling my name! Stay cool over there, my friend!
